Is Diet Fitness For You Too?

We all know that health is wealth. By being physically fit, you will look lean both inside and out.

Did you know that by exercising at a moderate pace for only 30 minutes, you would feel a lot better, mentally? It has been proven that this improves the appetite and sharpens your style in problem solving. Not only that. When you start with the exercises before you go to sleep, you will realize that you do not need so much time to fall asleep like before.

But beauty is not only about having muscles which is what people can see. The beauty within is what is also important.

Here are two important things one can do to stay beautiful and healthy;

Work brings us stress, and this is a sure thing, no matter what you do in life. One can reduce this by taking the time out to do something special like lying in a hot tub, shopping or watching a movie. The research confirmed that this is a reliever and keeps us from looking out of strength.

If you are not a smoker, you should stay away from peopl who do smoke since research has proven that you will also have a risk of having a lung cancer because you inhale the smoke.

You have to know that diet fitness is essential as the exercises itself. You get the right nutrition with diet for fitness, the kind you need to grow healthy and to help your worn out muscles. Diet fitness and weight loss are not one of those things you just take for granted. With the popularity of keeping fit, many different views, methods, programs and dieting strategies have been formulated by many professionals.

Among these are high carb diets and high fat diets. But now comes the dillema, which one of these works and should you follow that one or no?

It is important what works for your body, not what works for the rest of the people around, like high carbs low fat diets or those low fat but high carb diets. Trying to have hot and healthy body doesn't mean you have to work yourself to death or that you have to eat the same type of food to the rest of your healthy life.

One may even try to be adventurous and try out new foods out there. It is possible? It's possible you will find interest in spinach too.

Aiming for the Six Pack Abs

For people who don't want just flat stomach but aim for six pack abs, the right program is needed to achieve it. And don't expect to get to your goal in a few months, it takes more than that. More so you need determination, willpower, proper diet and pure dedication to maintain it. But the good part about it is this: it's doable and the satisfactory results are well worth the effort. Come to think of it, you're not only healthier but also in a very desirable shape.  You'll get a lot more looks when you have a tight firm stomach than if you have a big beer belly with a few love handles.

To show off your six pack abs in no time, you need to eliminate body fat first. How do you that? Start by eating sensibly. Don't skip breakfast, add up on fiber, opt for low calorie dinners, drink water throughout the day (the more, the better) and avoid sweets. Having small meals every three hours can also boost metabolism which is important in aiding your workout efforts as well. The best exercises to bust the fat are cardiovascular exercises such as running, walking, biking, swimming, volleyball, basketball, cross training and stair climbing. Then combine it with weight training.  A new trend is to use high intensity interval training which actually takes less time than regular weight training and gives you results in a much shorter time.

When the fat in your stomach starts to loosen, then it's time build muscles to finally start your way to an enviable six pack abs. You need a consistent and well-planned program for this. Getting a trainer and enrolling in a gym may be better than doing it at home. But the choice is really yours. You must include crunches, sit-ups, V-ups, jackknife sit-ups, static hold and side static, training your oblique muscles and other ways to train your abs into your fitness program.

Antioxidant Foods

Antioxidant Foods Video

Fighting cancer using natures help requires the use of antioxidant foods; substances found in many plants, fruits and vegetables. Phytonutrients found in fruits and vegetables work together with other nutrients to protect your health. Although only nine hundred if these phytonutrients have been discovered so far it is the scientist opinion that many more will be found and will change tomorrows health care needs; with these discoveries (and more to come), scientists believe the face of healthcare is changing, hopefully forever.

There have been a huge number of health benefits discovered so far from many well known foods; pomegranates for example, contain many different properties whilst blueberries have compounds which affect the aging process.

The humble blueberry (famous for homemade pies) has very low sugar content while having many antioxidants that are good for our health. For many people eating fruit does not come easily but drinking the juice is much more pleasant and an efficient way to get the goodness from the fruit into our systems; many benefits have been found including an improvement in our circulatory system and an increase in our own ability to ward of illness.

Not content with helping to prevent illness, these antioxidants also help fight disease and infection. The old saying about an apple-a-day couldn't be truer with evidence that they can help prevent the chance of heart conditions occurring.

Now citrus fruits too are showing that they have a use with a number of beneficial phytochemicals contained in them. Tart cherries can also provide anti-inflammatory benefits to people who suffer with conditions that cause pain in and around the joints. Most of us have already heard about the benefits that certain minerals and vitamins like B, c and E provide which have now become widely used in products. Another group of antioxidants called Phytoalexins (resveratrol) found in many berries can prevent infection and have anti-viral properties.

Many people with other aging conditions prevalent around the world, for instance: heart attacks, stroke and Alzheimer's can all benefit when these compounds are used. The humble tomato has also been under scrutiny with benefits it has guarding against certain cancers and heart problems.

Using tomato puree (which is the concentrated form of tomatoes) as the base for your chili utilizes the antioxidants without the bulk of a whole tomato. Even the humble water melon, so refreshing on a hot summer's day, has now been found to have some of the most important and powerful phytonutrients available naturally. With all the natural goodness fruit contains and now the health benefits as well, isn't it time for you to start having more fruit in your diet.

The Real Abdominal Liposuction Cost

What’s the Cost of Abdominal Liposuction

If you are considering the cosmetic surgery procedure of abdominal liposuction, you will also need to consider the cost. If you got a healthy lifestyle and plenty of exercise and it’s not giving you the body shape you desire, and you are seriously thinking about abdominal liposuction, you must also consider the liposuction cost in addition to other factors.

Abdominal liposuction can now also include more advanced techniques like laser-assisted liposuction. The cost of abdominal liposuction and laser-assisted technology might increase the cost of the liposuction procedure somewhat. However, these newer technologies should to be considered for their effectiveness.

The cost of abdominal liposuction alone should not be used to determine whether or not you go ahead with the procedure.

Fees and Expenses

The cost of abdominal liposuction depends greatly on the amount of fat that must be removed. You can expect to pay anywhere between $3,000 and $7,500 for abdominal liposuction. The overall abdominal liposuction cost includes both surgical and non-surgical fees. Non-surgical fees will include the cost of using the operating theater, post-op garments, supplies, and pre-op laboratory tests. The surgical fee is the actual cost of the abdominal surgery. The greater the fat deposits, the more it will cost.

Things to Consider

When shopping around for a good plastic surgeon to perform the procedure, it is not necessarily the wisest choice to go with the cheapest surgeon. Many patients have taken this option and ended up with uneven spots, too little fat removed and other negative factors. Although cost is an important factor when choosing your cosmetic surgeon it is a good idea not to be too frugal about it.

Abdominal Liposuction – Look at The Financing Options

Most health care plans do not cover liposuction, primarily because it is a cosmetic procedure. But, if you choose to undergo this procedure, there are other ways to pay for it. The first recommendation would be to pay the cost of the abdominal liposuction in cash at the time of the procedure. But if that option isn’t available to you, you may consider financing it, including loan and credit card payment option.

Choosing to have liposuction performed is a completely personal choice. It is only for your personal benefit and satisfaction. How you decide to make your body more beautiful is up to you. You care about your body and your money as well.

Kids Coping With Food Allergies

A food allergy is a very scary allergic reaction to a particular item of food. Food allergies are usually not diagnosed until a child has been exposed to the allergen and experienced an adverse reaction. Parents of children who have a food allergy know how scary and unpredictable the problem can be. Often our children are exposed to food items that have ingredients they are not completely aware of, thus exposing them to the food they are allergic to.

Food allergies, as opposed to food sensitivities, occur in the immune system. A true allergy to a food results in a violent, life-threatening reaction caused by the immune system attacking the offending protein as it enters the body and bloodstream. The immune system produces an antibody called IgE, which seeks out and bonds with the protein of the food that the child is allergic to. The build up of IgE proteins in the blood stream releases a torrent of chemicals that can cause itching, swelling, vomiting, fever, difficulty breathing, and many other symptoms, and can eventually lead to the systems of the body shutting down.

Most food allergies appear before a child reaches three years of life. If, however, a child is never exposed to a certain food that they have an allergy to in the toddler years, they might show an allergic reaction later in life. Most common allergens include wheat, milk, nuts, soy, and eggs. In fact, those foods incorporate over ninety percent of the allergies children face.

Allergies and sensitivities to foods are two different ideas. Sensitivities to foods are far less severe and the reactions do not occur immediately. It can be harder to detect sensitivities to foods because if a person eats an entire meal, it will not always be apparent as to what food caused the reaction. However, allergies are different. With allergies, a reaction takes place every time within seconds of ingesting the food allergen.

Although some food allergies cause problems for a lifetime, many of them can be outgrown.
If you are concerned that your child may have a food allergy, it is crucial to have them screened through the use of an allergy skin test. This will eliminate any doubt in your mind about whether or not there is allergy present. Once diagnosed, inform all caretakers, family, and friends about the allergy, and teach your child to ask what is in the foods that they are offered. The best way to deal with allergies in children is to completely avoid the foods that cause the reaction.

It is next to impossible, however, to protect your child from dangerous foods every minute of every day. Packaging has come a long way in recent years, and packaged foods are usually clearly labeled with potential allergens, but your child may not know how to read the labels, and may inadvertently grab a handful of snack mix that has a trace of peanuts in it. Because of the danger of life threatening complications, always have an Epi-pen handy, and make sure your child or her caregivers knows how to use it. An Epi-pen is a large shot of epinephrine, which will stabilize the allergic reaction until help can be summoned. After administering the epinephrine, call 911 to get immediate medical help for your child.

Basic Information On Muscle Building

Have you been struggling to achieve your goals for gaining muscle mass? Sometimes getting back to the basics is the key to overcoming your training plateau. Often as we look for the next best thing, we get away from tried and true keys that always work for being successful.

There are two types of workouts that will either allow you to gain muscle mass or tone your existing muscle. The goal of a low rep, high weight workout is to increase tissue mass, or plump up the tissue to its finest volume. Lifting heavy weight causes the muscle fibers to swell and you will notice a significant increase in the mass of fiber under your skin. The goal of high rep, low weight body building workouts is to tone the muscle and make it stronger without a significant noticeable change in mass. Women often perform toning workouts in order to sculpt their muscles and make them appear more defined and bodybuilders select programs that allow them to increase mass.

Bodybuilding is about a lifestyle more than just a 90 minute muscle building workout. I believe the details matter, and the difference in people's results doing the same workouts and same supplements is the little consistent details.

You may want to try a common sense guide to fat burning muscle building tips. All the new stuff that comes along is too much to keep up with. To get rid of the pounds you need to change some things in your life starting with your attitude. Make a commitment to yourself and stick to it. Start out with some fat burning exercises that you can handle.

When people begin new body building workouts they expect results quickly. This is fine if your body is lean to begin with. But if you have a high ratio of body fat to lean muscle, you will have to do aerobic cardiovascular exercises to burn off fat in combination with body building workouts to build muscle in order to see the desired results. Eating a low fat diet composed of lean proteins and low carbohydrates is also helpful in building muscle and reducing fat

Picking the right type of exercise will help you reach your weight loss goals in less time. Fat burning exercises may include walking, running or jogging. Things like riding a bike or going for a swim should work well. The amount of calories you burn does matter. Use your exercise time wisely and include as many muscle groups as you can into your exercise routine. Search the Internet for good websites and newsletters to subscribe to and you will be well on your way to losing those extra pounds.

Muscle building is a slow and gradual process. Muscle building also helps a person in the process of weight loss and weight loss is important because many symptoms and ailments take place because of over weight or obesity. Diseases like cancer, diabetes, hyper tension, depression and many more occurs because of over weight or obesity.

Even when you are not exercising, your muscles continue to burn fat more effectively when you perform a regular fitness program that includes body building workouts. Aerobic exercise strengthens your heart and improves the function of the cardiovascular system which is important in delivering blood to your muscles. But to continuously burn fat you need a combination of both aerobic training and body building. There is a popular opinion the longer your workout the best the result. Quite contrary with popular opinion, the matter of the fact is, it is not the quantity that counted but the weight that counted. If you want to build muscle it is not about how many times you lift, but how much weight you lift that counted.

There are many bodybuilding exercises that can help you gain muscle, like crunches, squats, flyes, bench presses, weightlifting and doing work outs by using weights. A person should gradually increase the weights in succession of reps and then slowly and carefully increase the exercising rate. Do not over do the muscle building training and get proper instruction before doing the work out by a professionally trained person, so as to avoid accidents and harmful consequences.

The last thing is rest; you need to give your body enough time to rebuild muscles during the rest period. You may want to have 48 hours rest between each workout session depending on your workout level for maximum results. So Start Building body now.

L-Arginines Health Benefits

L-Arginine is a dietary substance and an amino acid that helps the body rid itself of ammonia and is used to make such compounds in the body as creatine and glutamate. It is possible to convert it to glucose and glycogen when needed. There are many health benefits of this substance. Research has found that the supplementation of Arginine may help alleviate atherosclerosis and erectile dysfunction. It is involved in the formation of protein and in larger amounts it stimulates the release of growth hormones and prolactin.

One of the most prominent health benefits of L-Arginine is its use in patients who can benefit from increased blood flow, such as erectile dysfunction and heart disease. This substance is used in the production of nitric oxide, which increases blood flow, reduces blood vessel stiffness and improves blood vessel function. Aginines effect of increased blood flow makes it a candidate in cases of erectile dysfunction. It helps the blood vessels in the penis dilate, increasing the blood flow necessary to sustain an erection. It increase circulation and blood flow in the body, this is why it is thought to be such a good aid for people with erectile dysfunction and heart disease. L-Arginine is believe to be useful in the care and relief from symptoms of arthritis since it is a key component of collagen. Collagen plays a vital role in the production of new tissue and bone cells. For this reason, it is also thought to promote the rapid healing of wounds, especially bones.

Athletes take advantage of the health benefits of L-Arginine due to the amino acid’s ability to promote the release of human growth hormone, which enhances energy and endurance in the body. Athletes take it to increase creatine phosphate and insulin production, this is thought to increase muscle mass and hlep with fat loss. L-Arginine has also shown to be helpful in the healing of wounds and injuries as well as found to be particularly useful in the healing of bones.

The health benefits of L-Arginine are many. This essential amino acid with many known properties and functions, some may include the stimulation of growth hormone and improved immune function, plus reduction of hjealing time for injures and aid in muscle gain and fat loss.

Nutrition Facts For The Elderly

good sources of protein

Healthy eating and stress nutrition for the elderly is greatly impacted by several factors, one of them
being a change in body composition.  During the later years in life, the body will lose bone and
muscle and gain fat because the hormones aren't very active anymore.

There are many factors which hinder an elderly person's health.  The information below will help
you to lead a healthy life - no matter how old you may be.

Water

Water in the body decreases with age, so many older folks will become dehydrated very easily.  Sometimes they won't feel thirsty, while other times it's too much work to pour a glass a water.  With this in mind, it's recommended that they drink at least 1 ounce of water for every 2.2 pounds of weight.

Protein

At this stage in life, list of high protein foods is very important. Protein is needed to support a healthy immune
system and prevent the wasting of muscle.  Since energy needs are less, older folks should eat high quality protein such as eggs, lean meats, poulty,
and fish.

Carbs and fiber

Good carbohydrates are the main source of energy for the entire body.  You can find carbs in bread,
cereals, pasta, and other grain products.  A diet that's high in fiber and water will help to  prevent constipation as well.

Fat

Fat intake for the elderly should be limited, not eliminated.  You can limit fat by choosing lean meats, low fat dairy products, and food preperation methods that don't include frying.

Iron

For the elderly, iron deficiency can be seen with those who aren't eating much.  Good sources for iron include lean red meats or breakfast cereals.

Zinc

Zinc intake is normally with the elderly, and to make matters worse, it's not absorbed very well
either.  Meat, poultry, and fish should be a part of your diet to help you meet the requirements for zinc.

Calcium

Calcium is one ingredient that most elderly folks simply aren't getting enough of.  Most believe
that milk upsets their stomach, and therefore they will avoid it.  They should be getting around 1,500 mg of calcium a day, and nonfat powdered milk can be used in recipes as a substitute for milk.  Other foods such as yogurt, low fat cheese, and broccoli can also help you meet the requirements for calcium.

Vitamin B12

In order to absorb the benefits of B12, the intrinsic facotr must be produced by the stomach.  Most elderly people suffer from a deficiency in B12 because they have a condition known as atrophic gastritis.  This condition causes inflammation of the stomach, bacterial overgrowth, and the intrinsic factor. Without the intrinsic factor, this vitamin can be absorbed.

Each one of the above nutrients are needed to keep an aged body in good health.  Elderly individuals should try to stay active and strive for a well balanced diet.  Even though the aged body isn't the same as it used to be, proper care and the right nutrients can help the elderly enjoy a healthy and long life.

Simple Exercise to Increase Your Stamina

Have you ever felt tired and stressed out from work and by the time you get home you see your three children running towards you asking you to play basketball with them? Do you feel guilty when you refuse to play with because you just don't have the energy to move.

Instead of disappointing your children, why not say, "yes" after all? You will be surprised by the amount of energy you will have after that 30-minute activity.

Did you know that by exercising at a moderate pace for only 30 minutes, you would feel a lot better mentally and physically? It has been proven that this improves the appetite and sharpens your style in problem solving. Not only that. You will also feel that it is easier to sleep at night if you do moderate exercises even for only 30 minutes every day.

What benefits do you get when you exercise you ask? It promotes self-discipline and has a positive impact how you perceive life. Exercise helps in lifting your spirits and getting you out of any depression. For first timers, it can be done for 15 minutes for 2 to 3 days a week. You can increase the time you spend once your body gets tuned up for it.

DON'T ever force your body! If you get hurt, then stop. You can take a break from exercising for a few days and then you can start again but you need to be consistent after some time.

Here are some moderate exercises you can do and enjoy:

1. Walking is the best. Enjoy your surroundings with positive results. You can walk your dog, with your partner or child. Encourage your family to do the walking exercise daily and you will find yourself burning calories while enjoying the surroundings and getting enough sunlight that is also good for your body.

2. Discover the wonders of Yoga. Yoga is one effective exercise that energizes not only your body but also your soul. You may want to learn even the basic yoga positions that are not too complicated but proven effective. A five-minute yoga is proven to do wonders in your mental as well as physical well-being. You relax and at the same time you stretch!

3. Engage yourself into sports. Play basketball, football, baseball, tennis or badminton. Many doctors have recommended sports as an effective way to stay fit and healthy. Don't go crazy about sports in the beginning while you are still building up your stamina also. Do not take it seriously. Shooting basketball with a friend is one moderate exercise that is also considered a sport.

4. Take part in your office gym routine. If you still do not have exercises programs at work, then why not start it? You can talk to your boss about it and start with your colleagues. You do not only lose calories but it is also one good way to bond with them. This can be done 30 minutes, 3 times a week.  Also remember that using sometimes electronic tools and aids like pedometers can help your life by helping you to measure up how much execrise you are doing. If you need to find a good pedometer, free sure you check for pedometers reviews, whee you can find more info about the right pedometer you need to use depending of the exerrcise you are planning to do.

5. Exercise while finishing up household work. Gardening, raking leaves, lawn mowing, doing the laundry, vacuuming and car washing are effective moderate exercises at home. Make use of these chores to sweat and burn calories. Don't use equipments to do these chores; use your own strenth and body as much as possible?

Making exercises as part of your daily routines will surprise you of how much calories you will lose. Doing these moderate exercises of the same amount every day can burn 150 calories up to 1,000 calories a day!

Enjoy Your Workout - Ride The Firm's Wave!

The principle of the Wave is easy. Laid on the floor curved side up, the exercise base is firm and can be used for stepping exercises, rehabilitation, seniors and those whose balance is bad, and with exercise bands threaded through gaps in the frame, strengthening exercises can be executed. Curved side up, both are also suited for floor-based workout - Abs, back, and oblique muscles can be strengthened lying over the bowed surfaces. Curved side down, both introduce unstable surfaces for rocking exercises - which are great fun executed to music! In this position, the body employs the core muscles to balance, so exercises carried out in this way are doubly effective and burn a lot of calories.

By just standing on the Wave (curved side up) all your core and stabilising muscles have to engage just to keep you vertical. Consequently when you are rocking or doing any exercises on the Wave your muscles have to work harder, so you burn more calories and of course then lose more fat.

The best part is that riding the wave is great fun! Why settle for boring workouts on a treadmill or workout bike when you can rock yourself fit.

I really like this piece of equipment. It's simple, has nothing that can break and at under $100 tremendous value for money. I think the Wave will become one of the next big things in home fitness equipment. I have 16 T-Bows (a similair piece of equipment available in the UK) for my own Pilates Classes and although I love the T-Bow it's pricey and at about $180, this is more than my customers are prepared to pay so I now recommend the Wave instead.

For your $100 you also get a lot of extras. Several DVD's covering the basic to advanced moves, a fat burning and Strength training DVD, a wall chart and a healthy eating plan.

So if you want a simple easy to put away piece of home workout equipment that will give you:-

  • Aerobic calorie-burning exercises.
  • Muscle toning and sculpting
  • Core muscle buiding
  • Stretching and Pilates Exercises

Combining Your Six Pack Abs Workout with the Right Diet

No six pack abs workout will become successful when not combined with the right diet program. You may be eating less than an average Joe but if you're eating oily, fatty and unhealthy food, you may be undermining the good effects of your workout. To start right, eliminate sweets, lessen the intake of fried foods, add up on fruits and vegetables, substitute water for sugar-filled juices and eat more complex carbohydrates such as barley, oats and rice. Say no to crash diets and instead complement your workout with more fiber, plenty of water and smaller meals every three hours to stabilize your metabolism.

To start your six pack abs workout, you must target to eliminate overall body fat first. The logic here is simple, it's easier to sculpt the muscles when there are no excess fat covering it. Although this is no easy feat, it is achievable if you couple it with determination, focus and discipline. The secret to keeping off the fat longer is to do it systematically and slowly. Cardiovascular exercises are the best fat eliminators. You have a lot to choose from: swimming, basketball, volleyball, stair climbing, walking, cycling and running.

After losing the excess fat, it's time to build up muscles. Combine your cardio exercises with weight training. Then further strengthen stomach muscles by doing crunches, sit-ups, v-ups and oblique exercises. It takes time for the six pack abs workout to take shape but the effort is well worth it as soon as you see the results.  And forget about targeting just your abdomen muscles.  You need to aim for total body fitness and get your fat levels down to the low double digits or even single digits for your six pack abs to start showing.  The only way to do this is work on your whole body and not just your abs.

The Value of Home Gyms

Home gyms are increasing in popularity as the equipment technology gets better and the prices get more reasonable. Many home gyms are relatively inexpensive and the savings you get from having to commute to a local gym might be worth the savings of paying a monthly gym fee. Homew gyms are particularly convenient since you don't have to wait on other people to use equipment you need nor do you have to deal wioth all the different distractions a full service gym has.

Joining a commercial gym can cost you a lot of money each month. Many folks who take the time to sign up for a gym membership never take the time to go because of the effort it takes to commute over to the commercial gym. It's always interesting to see people join a gym at the beginning of the year with all the good intentions in the world, only to quit going after a couple short months. Going to a gym requires commitment. Something that may be better suited from working out at your own home gym.

The best home gyms are great since you make an initial investment and do not continue to make payments. You get to work out when you want and you don’t have to worry about any commutes with a home fitness program. Come home from work and all it takes is the motivation to get started and not succumb to watching TV instead.

Another advantage that a home gym has over a commercial gym is that you don’t have any of the distractions that you have at a commercial gym. There seems to always be someone who wants to chat with you when you are trying to concentrate on your own workout. Sometimes this can be tiresome and can seriously hinder the intensity of your workout. This is particularly the case for many women as guys tend to see the gym as a place to meet girls. A home gym will allow you to stay focused on getting fit without having someone disrupt your concentration.

Home gyms save you money over time as well as providing a peaceful and comfortable place to workout. There’s no one to bother you and you can concentrate fully to ensure that you get the best workout possible.

One downside to homegyms is that you will seldom ever see anyone else workoing out, which can be its own motivator to getting in shape. Many people join a gym for the classes they can attend which helps you stay motivated as well. If you do choose to workout with your home gym you'll have to ensure you are plenty self-motivated because it is very easy to come home and relax and not work out.

Best Elliptical Trainers – Best Elliptical Machines Reviews

One of the best pieces of equipment to own for workout is the elliptical trainer. It´s used these days instead of the treadmill, because they bring workouts of lower impact and they are quite effective for anyone that wants to train.

Stop Injuries to the Joints

The effect of the elliptical trainer on your joints is something to consider when choosing the best option for you. Another thing is making sure that you will get the best cardiovascular workout that you need, to meet the training needs optimum for you.

The elliptical trainer can achieve that without having the need for other training equipment.

The price of the elliptical trainer is another thing to consider when making a choice. Keep in mind the budget and the maximum price you can afford and respect it. You can easily go too far when you want to buy an elliptical trainer, because you usually want the best option available.

But some elliptical trainers can cost up to thousands of dollars, so you should be sure that you can afford that. Unless you are training to become a bodybuilder or a marathon runner, most budget elliptical trainers should be more than sufficient for most people. Budget elliptical machines usually cost less than $500 and should be quite affordable.

When you review training equipment, you should make sure they have features like handles for upper body training, adjustable incline, quiet operation, adjustable resistance and a stride length of around 21 inch. It should also have warm up settings and cooling off period as safety features.

Elliptical trainers with handrails aren´t usually considered the best ones. This is because handrails can prevent the user from having the best workout overall.

A warranty is another thing an elliptical trainer should have when you buy it. A normal warranty should be 1 year for labor and up to 3 years for the parts.

Check out the best elliptical trainers online. Discover where to buy the best elliptical machines online.

Tom Venuto Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle Review

Desperately trying to lose that excess fat? Then may I suggest searching the web for Tom Venuto. You are probably wondering who this guy is. Well, Tom Venuto is a fitness expert who became popular in his 340 page ebook called Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. He has also contributed many articles to bodybuilding and weight loss magazines and is considered an expert in nutrition and bodybuilding.

The ebook has a step by step guide of losing weight without using drugs or any other supplements. One of these things I like about his guide is that he does not make use of it to recommend other bodybuilding or weight loss pills.

I have read many other weight loss books and many times, you find recommendations to buy this weight loss pills or that bodybuilding equipment etc. Tom Venuto does not make any recommendations. He does not recommend you take any diet pills and most of the exercises don´t require you to have access to the gym.

Like many others I was skeptical at first because I had tried tons of ways trying to lose those excess fats for years. I read several books about diet and exercise. I even bought several exercising equipments.

In the end, my body fats just keeps coming back and the worst part is that I even gained several pounds. I tried several diet methods that restricts your food preference. Being a carnivore just doesn´t fit with my diet program. Exercising is even worst.

After my exercises, I usually end up too hungry and eat even more. Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle book will explain why this happens and why diets do not work. Tom´s book help me to understand more about my body and how muscles and your metabolism are important in burning fat.

All of this is explained in layman terms and it was easy to read. Tom presents a realistic and scientific way to lose weight. He does not guarantee you lose weight fast but his methods are well tested and proven.

The guide is quite large at about 340 pages and it isn´t those large sized fonts either. It took me about a week to finish reading and start implementing his exercise and nutrition routine.

If you want to learn how to lose weight the right way, i highly recommend Tom Venuto Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle. Click here for an indepth Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle review.

How To Make Money And Build Your Own Fitness Camp For Children

Buld Your Won Fitness Camp For Children! by Josh Guerrieri Now, more than ever parents are becoming concerned about the fitness of their kids. This is no secret given the problems of childhood obesity and the increasing weight and lack of fitness that we are seeing in children. Child obesity and diabetes levels are rising dramatically. There is also the issue that many parents feel, which is that schools are paying less attention and devoting less time to physical education than they used to and that children's activity levels are reduced as a result. All of this comes at a time when there is more television and video game distractions than ever that are tearing children away from the more physical activities that they would have once engaged in. To combat these trends, there are a number of activities and routines that parents can encourage their children to take part in, and can use to increase the activity levels and fitness of their children. The most important thing to remember with kids is that you will want to make the fitness routine fun. Trying to use guilt or shame to get over weight kids to be more active is just might to back fire and bring their confidence levels down even lower. The other point to remember is that the kids need not even realise that they are being encouraged to exercise more and you can simply slip the activities into their lives without them even noticing. One easy way is to get the kids walking more. You may live close enough to their school to walk, or even cycle. This is a extreemly easy way to sneak a little activity into their lives without them even noticing. You can also walk to other places like shops. Another very good idea for younger children is to buy a dog. While this will not be possible for everyone, it is an excellent excuse to have to take a walk every day and it also makes the task a little bit more fun and less mundane. You can also plan fun activities for the weekend like roller blading, swimming, cycling, hill walking or ice skating. These activities are great fun and can be used to basically bribe kids into excercising. It is also a good idea to let the kids bring their friends to these activities as once they are involved in something with their friends, and they get a routine, they are much more likely to encourage each other and keep it up for longer. Over time you will realize how much fun this will be and perhaps realize transform helping children into a rewarding business. In fact, entrepreneur magazine has named "children's services" as one of the top 7 industries holding 7 figure potential for entrepreneurs! Smooth 5.45 Treadmill Review

If you are one of those people who don't want to spend over $1000 for a treadmill, you may want to check out the Smooth 5,45 from Smooth Fitness. This model is a great treadmill, which has been upgraded from older Smooth model, 5.25. Smooth made changes according to the treeadmill reviews their customers made over time, so it is no wonder that they managed to create a model with such great features.

After shopping around for treadmills, many people are curious how Smooth Fitness can offer a machine like the 5,45 at such an economical price. The asnwer is quite simple. The internet is the only place where you can find Smooth treadmills. Since Smooth offers his products directly to the buyer, without the middleman, he is capable of offering good treadmills at a good prices.

Smooth Fitness knows that a machine is only as good as the motor that is inside of it. The Smooth 5,45 has a quiet, smooth, 2,5 continuous duty motor that is ideal for people who walk or lightly jog. Since the motor is so quiet, you can use this machine at anytime and any place - which is what consumers who used this treadmill report. This is great for moms of small children who may be napping or going to be early.

The only thing I would like to point out is the Smooth 5,45's motor is best for people who will be walking or lightly jogging. Runners won't be satisfied with the motor that is installed in this. If you are a runner, you may want to opt for the Smooth 6,45. It has a more powerful motor and can handle the pounding of intense running.

The decks is another field where Smooth treadmills are good at. The shock absorption deck on the Smooth 5,45 treadmill is really high-tech. This treadmill has a deck that is a whole lot different then the one that competition is offering, consumers say.

Since this machine has good features and is easy to maintain, it is ranked better then other models in its price range. It is easy to see how Smooth 5.45 deserved its best buy and how Smooth Fitness made a great choice when it decided to build a product like this.

Huge Muscle By Doing This After Your Workout

Many folks new to working out and weight lifting routines are not aware that your muscles do not grow while you're in the gym. If you still think that all you have to do to grow big muscles is to hit the gym then you're probably still struggling to meet your bodys full potential. You could be making huge gains in minimal amounts of time if you would just take advantage of the post workout window of opportunity.

The first thing you have to realize is that muscle growth does not take place while you're working out. What you're actually doing when you push and pull weights is stratching and tearing the muscles underneath your skin. That's why you get a pump when you're really hitting your muscles hard... This is how your body reacts to the "damaged" area... by sending blood to the affected area. So if you don't grow while you're working out in the gym when do you grow?

Your muscles begin to grow when you leave the gym and you stop abusing them! Matter of fact your muscles have an opportunity to start growing right after you leave the gym if you supply them with some crucial nutrients that they're in desperate need of.

Protein and carbohydrates are the two critical nutrients you need to consume immediately following a workout. If you're going to consume sugar this is the best time of the day to do it. Immediately following a workout your body is literally looking for something to burn as fuel because if you worked out the way you're supposed to then you should have burned all the food you've consumed throughout the day and now your body is runing on empty and your muscles desperately need to start repairing themselves. If you want to start rebuilding your muscle and also give your body the critical nutrients it needs to survive then you want to make sure you consume three things!

The three nutrients you need to take are a simple carbohydrate or any kind of sugar really. Protein because your muscles are made up of protein and that's what they need to grow. Since simple carbohydrates are normally broken down within 30 minutes you also want to make sure to consume some type of complex carbohydrates for long term energy. The post work out opportunity doesn't last forever and since that's the case most gym goers usually drink their protein and carbohydrates through a protein shake. There are many brands on the market that make protein shakes specifically for post workout.

You'll also need to eat a meal consisting of protein and carbohydrates within 2 hours of your weight training session if you really want to pack on the muscle. Any type of red meat, chicken, turkey or fish will do for the protein and rice or potatoes are my favorites for the complex carbohydrate side. Once you realize that growing bigger muscles is more then just working out in the gym and going through your current bodybuilding workout program, you'll be on the fast track to getting huge and reaping the full benefits of your workouts. Taking advantage of the post-workout window of opportunity is step one to reaching your muscles full potential but it should have a pretty dramatic impact on your growth.

The Good, Bad and Ugly of Antibiotics

We all have to admit to the many advances in our health care we can be thankful for today. Before the 1900’s the top related causes of death were due largely to contaminated food and water as well as an insufficient housing and sewage disposal system. Once we began to understand more about the invisible world full of bacteria, things like indoor plumbing and the sterilization of medical instruments were introduced. With the passage of time, we have become more and more conscience about our personal hygiene. This has resulted in a wonderful decrease in infectious diseases.

However, while there has been a significant decrease in deaths due to infectious diseases, starting with the introduction of penicillin in the 1940’s, a new type of problem cropped up. The causes of death went from infectious diseases to chronic disease conditions. The main influences of death are not from poor hygiene, they are dying from the decrease and elimination of something else.

And this is where our discussion turns to the dark side of antibiotics. The sad truth of this problem is – what kills the disease carrying bacteria, also kills our amazing probiotic bacteria friends.

While antibiotics have helped us eliminate so many diseases, the constant abuse of these medications, which includes prescribing them when people have colds and flues, which are virus related, not bacterial. Virus related illnesses are those that cannot be treated or cured with the use of antibiotics Instead, they simply kill off both good and bad bacteria inside your intestinal tract without any rhyme or reason.

In addition to this people have added to the development of the super resistant bacteria due to the lack of following through with their dosage of their medications properly. This has produced a cycle that keeps getting worse. Drug companies continue to manufacture and develop stronger antibiotics and the abuses such as mentioned above continue to happen. It is a never ending cycle that is become quite frightening when you learn about the consequences.

So, where does this leave us? What is the solution?

Doctors are well aware of the physical consequences that result from antibiotics. So, why is it that along with our prescriptions for antibiotics, we are not then prescribed with probiotics to replace what has been lost through antibiotics?

Although antibiotics have really reeked havoc on good bacterial growth, we have added to their damage by our more modern lifestyles. Fast food, soda, diet products, processed foods and the total lack of eating well-balanced meals are also to blame. And if these things weren’t bad enough, lack of proper amounts of sleep, emotional stress and even things we can not totally control like the environment, have all played a part in diminishing our good bacterial intestinal flora. And we have only ourselves to blame.

This leads us to the question of what to do next? If you’re reading this article, no matter where you live, you have access to the solution. Even if it means ordering it online.

Helping our intestinal tract is just a matter of introducing the probiotics our bodies have lost and continue to lose daily. It’s as easy as eating good unprocessed foods, organic fruits and vegetables if we can afford and acquire them. We can also add them by way of probiotic powders, probiotic liquids and probiotic supplements.

In the next article I’ll be talking about some of the more common foods that we can buy to encourage our healthy probiotic bacteria to grow and outnumber the bad bacteria.

Article by Kimberly Shannon. If you missed the first article on probiotics you can find it at our breast cancer support site.

Tabata Protocol - Double Your Results in 1/3 of the Time

Numerous people have never even heard of this workout. The Tabata Protocol is hardly new, but often overlooked. There are many people that would benefit from this type of workout, if only they knew more about it. If you have heard of turbulence training, then this will kind of give you an idea of what this workout is like. So without further delay, let's talk about this fantastic cardio routine.

The Tabata Protocol? What Exactly Is It?

The Tabata Protocol was a high-intensity, short interval workout that was intended as an interval routine for the Japanese Speed Skating team. Named after the head coach, Izumi Tabata, Ph.D., who was the former researcher at Japan's National Institute of Fitness and Sports, this fat loss workout has been found to be extremely effective.

So How Is This Interval Routine Different?

The entire routine takes about 13 minutes, but this includes only 3-4 minutes of very intense work. The routine involves 6-8 hard intervals that last 20 seconds each. Alternate with 10-second rest periods. Add in five minutes each of warm up and cool down, and, you’re done!

How on Earth Can 3-4 Minutes Burn Body Fat?

This type of short-term intense interval training has been shown to jack up your metabolic rate for many hours after the workout is finished. You will burn a lot more total calories after the workout is complete. What they also found is that this version of interval training is extremely effective at burning fat without compromising muscle tissue.

Short Does Not Equal Easy!

Don't fool yourself into thinking that the Tabata Protocol is easy. Done properly…it is a tough 3 to 4 minutes. It was reported that many of the athletes had to stop at 6 intervals their first few times through the workout. Besides torching body fat, this routine dramatically improves both your aerobic and anaerobic capacity…making you a better athlete.

What Exercises Do You Do During the Tabata Protocol Workout?

This is what excites me the most about this method of cardio...you have a ton of choices. I think the easiest would be an exercise bike, elliptical or running at a track. It wouldn't be a very good for the treadmill, because the treadmill takes to long to get up to top speed. You could use almost any piece of cardio equipment that allows you to reach maximum effort quickly.

What’s Your Sport? Want to Get Better At It?

Whether you’re a boxer, a basketball player, or a gymnast, intense interval work can improve your abilities. Athletic performance at any level will improve as a result of using these methods in a committed way.

Fitting the Tabata Protocol In

Work your way into this type of training and use your head. If you haven't trained hard in a while then speak with your physician. Even if you do consult your doctor, take it easy or you will be sore for a few days. Try it once a week and maybe work up to 2-3 times per week max.

Using Chiropractic Treatment for Children To Enhance Their Health

Chiropractors are generally thought of to be helpful only to adults.  Whether the problem is back pain, neck pain, or any other of a number of ailments, adults have sought the treatment that only chiropractors can give.  But younger people are starting to reap the benefits that chiropractors have been giving to adults for years.  It is possible that many problems suffered by adults can be fixed at a very young age by a qualified chiropractor.

You might be thinking that there is no reason for a healthy child to visit the chiropractor. If you view a chiropractor as a "bone cruncher" then this assessment of chiropractic treatment for children is probably well founded. But chiropractors rarely fall into the stereotype of back-cracking, pain-inducing doctors. In fact, today's chiropractic treatments are often painless and even relaxing!

Why do children need to see the chiropractor? In order to understand the treatment of children, you must first understand chiropractic care in general. The goal of chiropractic care is to align the spine correctly. All of the nerves in the body are connected to the spine, and each vertebra controls certain nerves, and therefore certain bodily functions. When the spine is misaligned, nerves become pinched, cutting off the flow of neurological signals to the parts of the body that are controlled by that nerve. This situation is called subluxation. Subluxation does not always cause pain in the back or neck, but it is caused by a problem in the spine. When the vertebrae are realigned correctly, the nerves are no longer pinched, and the body begins to function properly.

Babies in the womb have perfect spines, provided there is no trauma to the baby before birth. The birthing process, however, puts extreme pressure on the neck and spine. Also, when the baby is right at the point of being born, there is not much room in the uterus, and the spine can become compressed. Once the baby is born, the acts of crawling and learning how to walk can cause subluxation in the spine.

The benefits of younger people receiving chiropractic treatment have become known as of late.  Parents who are worried about the painful treatment that their child or infant might endure need not worry.  Chiropractors are sensitive to the delicate nature of young children and they have less aggressive methods for treating them.  It would behoove a parent to seek chiropractic treatment for their young child, especially infants, because it reduces the instance of colic.  Chiropractic treatments also lead to sleeping better at nights which, in turn lead to more alertness and less irritability during the waking hours.

Signs that your child might need to visit the chiropractor are frequent bouts of crying that are inconsolable. Children who experience colic or reflux symptoms can find relief from the chiropractor. Because a misaligned neck leads to headaches, many babies who need to be seen by the chiropractor will be quite fussy for no apparent reason. Other persistent physical problems, including chronic sore throats and chronic ear infections, often stem from subtle problems in the spine.

Chiropractic treatments are not a popular option among pediatricians.  But with this practically risk-free treatment, a parent would be hard-pressed to find a reason shun it as a means of assistance for their child's symptoms.  All in all, the advantages of seeking chiropractic care for your young child far outweigh any of the drawbacks associated with this type of medical practice.

Sole Elliptical Beats Any Treadmill

I didn't know much about the elliptical trainers. I knew all about treadmills. I tried working out on a treadmill, but it wasn't a great experience for me. Those machines were too loud, there were too sturdy and what bothered me most were my feet that were slapping the moving tread. My knees got hurt, and besides that, I had a lot of trouble just keeping my balance.

I am one of those people that absolutely hate working out. I like the feeling I have after a good exercise, but it is hard for me to get motivated to work out at all. I need to distract myself while I work out. The fact that I got 15 pounds extra made me want to start exercising. I couldn't properly enjoy in the aerobic videos I rented. I wanted to exercise in the gym, but I didn't have the time to go there regularly. Then my husband suggested that we buy one of the elliptical trainers. We started a search for a machine that would give us most value for our money.

One of the Sole elliptical machines was our choice. There are more than one feature I love about this machine, but the fact that it is so quiet is the best of them all. Since I placed my exercising machine in my living room I can watch my TV show and exercise at the same time. Since this elliptical is very quiet, I do not have the turn the TV volume to a deafening level. Elliptical machine is a super quiet piece of fitness equipment, when compared to treadmill.

The other feature I enjoy in this elliptical machine is that the footpad you use will move together with your feet. So as my foot raises up to take a step, the footpad raises up with me. There is no slapping your feet on a moving tread. You will get a total body workout with any elliptical machine since there are arm bars that are moving along with your body while you are exercising, and you won't have trouble with keeping your balance.

After exercising on this Sole elliptical, it is hard for me to imagine moving back to a treadmill.

Choosing The Right Weight Loss Diet Plan For You

It seems that a new diet program is brought to the market every other day, making consumers' choices almost mind-boggling. These plans can range from fast detox programs that only last a few weeks to long term lifestyle changes. If you are looking to choose one of these popular new diets, it is best to understand just what is involved and how they work before making a decision about which to use. No matter which you choose, remember to consult with your doctor or other medical professional before beginning any weight loss programs.

Detox Diets

Often see on talk shows and in magazines, detox diet plans seem to be all the rage. These short term diet and weight loss programs are extremely strict, but promise quick results. Detox diets help to cleanse the body and rid your digestive system of toxins. One of the extra side effects of a detox plan is quick weight loss due to decreased food consumption. While these plans can probably work well for short term, fast weight loss, you should not keep on using these programs longer than recommended.

Low Carb Diets

One of the biggest diet and weight loss trends in recent years is the use of low carb diets for fast results. These diets promote consuming smaller amounts of carbohydrates, which will cause your body to burn fat instead of relying on carbs for energy. These plans are generally effective and often recommended by doctors, however close monitoring by a physician is recommended when using these plans. Fast weight loss is usually achieved at first, however those who try to return to a normal eating plan can gain back as fast as they lost.

Vegetarian Diets

For hundreds of years, different cultures have used vegetarian diets for many reasons. These diet and weight loss plans can be helpful and relatively safe, if those who choose a vegetarian lifestyle are careful in their menu planning. Should you choose one of these diet plans, remember to find plenty of source of protein to fuel your body properly. This should include both complete and incomplete proteins, such as beans, soy, and nuts in order to stay healthy. Though you can lose weight on these diets, more often they are a social or political lifestyle choice.

Balanced Diets

The safest diet and weight loss programs are those who endorse balanced diets. Balanced diets, together with a regular exercise program are the doctor recommended way to loseweight safely. These diets should include plenty of vegetable and fruit components, lean protein sources and whole grains and fibers. You can follow the Food Pyramid or get sample menu plans from a dietician or doctor. Losing fat with a balanced diet can be a slow process, but if you follow the plan exactly, it's the most healthful way to eat long term.

Selecting a weight loss diet plan can be difficult, but with research and education you can find a program that will work for you. Your best bet is to discuss your weight issues with your doctor and get his or her opinion. Together you can decide which popular diet plan is right for you.

Why Sleep Is So Important To Your Childs Good Health

How to Set a Healthy Sleep Schedule for Kids

Getting enough sleep is one of the most important factors in having a child that is healthy and developing properly. But when you are the parent of a child that hates to sleep, this can often be an almost impossible chore. How do you make sure your child gets enough sleep when they are kicking and screaming all the way? Sometimes it is simply easier to let the child stay up a few extra minutes rather than fight a temper the size of Texas. But when those minutes add up to hours, your child's health will suffer from this compounded lack of sleep.

How much sleep does a child need? Because your child can function on six or seven hours of sleep, does that mean that he is getting enough? It is critical to know that all kids are unique people, and what is the needed quantity of sleep for your kids might be totally different from the appropriate amount of sleep for your friends child.

Infants need more sleep than any other age group of children. With growing bodies, sleep is good for their rapid development. Between daily naps and nighttime sleep, an infant will average about 15 hours of sleep for every 24 hour period during their first six months. During this time, feedings are also important throughout the night in order to keep your infant's small stomach well-nourished. After this period though, parents should try to make their infant sleep the entire night by resisting the urge to run into their room every time they wake up. Also after the first six month period, the nap duration should be reduced by a couple hours to help ensure a proper night's sleep for both infant and parent.

Toddlers typically sleep between ten and thirteen hours each night. This also should be uninterrupted sleep, but since this is the time when babies start to actively dream, you can expect to have a dream or two that wakes up your child. It is a good idea to hold and comfort your child after a scary dream. This is also the time when many children drop their afternoon naps. If your child stops showing signs of needing a nap, it is fine for them to drop their nap routine. As your child begins the preschool years, they will still need around ten hours of sleep each night.

There are not any rules that can be applied to every child. It is up to the parent to notice patterns with their child. This includes their sleep pattern. If observed closely, children tend to display signs of tiredness when they get drowsy. Parents should take heed of these signs and recognize that time as the normal bedtime for their child. Of course, there will be times when this bedtime will not be able to be achieved, but parents should make a considerable effort to make it as routine as possible. Consistent sleep patterns lead to healthy sleep patterns. Bedtime rituals, as a form of relaxation, are also a great aid in assisting in your child's healthy sleep pattern.

Exercise and Your Child - You Can Teach Your Children to Be More Physically Active

Exercise For Kids

Childhood obesity is a major problem in today's society. More and more children are being classified as not just heavy, but actually clinically obese. Obesity in children is a problem with many causes. Today's food is not as healthy as it was ten or even twenty years ago. Sugary snacks are convenient and often cheaper than healthy alternatives. When your children are hungry, it is often easier to grab a snack cake than to sit down and cut some carrot sticks or something else that is a healthy alternative.

Not only is food a problem that keeps our children overweight, but also our sedentary lifestyle is a major contributor to the childhood obesity epidemic. When we were children, we spent most of our time outside, playing kickball, hopscotch, and jumping rope. Today, children watch television, surf the Internet, and play video games. The rise in kidnappings is part of the reason that parents do not let their kids roam the neighborhoods the way they did as children. But, in keeping our children safe from predators by keeping them inside, we often put them in danger of health problems due to obesity. There is a way around this dilemma!

There are several things that parents can do to encourage their children to become more active. The best way to encourage children to exercise is to be an example. Even when your children are babies, they should see you exercising, making physical activity an important part of your life. As they grow up seeing you enjoying being active, they will learn that exercise and physical activity is fun and an important part of your life.

Make exercise fun for your family. Think of things you can do together that encourage your children to get up and start moving! Install a basketball hoop in your driveway, and spend time shooting hoops with your kids. If your kids enjoy riding bikes, get yourself on your bike and take a ride as a family. If your child enjoys martial arts, then enroll him or her and a karate class. The key is to find something that inspires your child and encourage them to pursue that activity.

Another way to get your child moving even if the weather outside is not conducive to outside activities is through exercise videos. Find an exercise video or DVD that is aimed at children, and do the routine with your children. Not only will your children be healthier, but you just might loose a few pounds as well! Again, keep it fun! Laugh at the mistakes that you make, and stay upbeat!

Keep in mind that all children are different. Your child may or may not be athletic. Do not try to make your child into the next Michael Jordan if they cannot make a basket to save their life. Becoming a successful athlete is not the important issue when teaching your child to exercise. The important thing you are teaching your children is the lifetime habit of making exercise an enjoyable, and important, part of their life. Make it fun, exciting, and vary the activities you do. You will be teaching your child how to become a happy, healthy adult!

Exercise, Build Muscle the Old-Fashioned Way

Most people don't realize that you don't need fancy gym equipment to build muscle -- in fact, standard bodyweight exercises like pushups can be effectively used to build muscle up.

Frankly, it's easy to underestimate just how effective pushups can be at building your chest, shoulders, back, and arms. Pushups might appear plain and boring at a glance: down up, down up, down up -- that's it. And that's true to a certain extent. But most people outside of fitness enthusiasts are only familiar with the standard pushups that they were taught in their high school gym classes.

There are many kinds of pushups that you can use to focus on different muscle groups, but we're going to focus on five types in this article. These might not be the best five for all people, but they should open your eyes to the variety available with basic functional exercises.

Military pushups: military pushups are similar to standard pushups, except that you move your hands underneath your shoulders and tuck your elbows tightly to your side. This variation works the triceps more than the chest.

Fist pushups: Sometimes referred to as "knuckle" pushups, require the use of your fists, instead of the palms of your hands, to bear your body weight during the pushup. Fist pushups are beneficial because they target different areas of your body than traditional pushups, and may actually increase the effectiveness of your workout.

Fly pushups: adding another layer to wide pushups, fly pushups require you to begin the pushup with your hands a normal width apart at the top position. When lowering your body to the ground, you should slide your right hand out roughly 12 inches, and then slide it back to normal width on the up rep. On the next repetition, you would perform this motion with your left hand. Hint: place your hand on a towel, piece of cardboard, or similar item to assist with the slide, or "hop" your hands in and out.

Incline pushups: Incline pushups are the exact opposite of decline pushups -- instead of placing your feet higher than your head, your head should be higher than your feet for this exercise. Any sturdy surface that will allow you to perform the pushups unencumbered can be used. Incline pushups work your lower pectoral muscles.

Deep pushups: If you are working out at home, you can perform raised pushups with the help of three sturdy chairs. By placing each of your hands on an opposite chair, and your feet on the third chair, you can increase the depth of your pushup and thereby increase the effectiveness of your workout routine. A similar, but less intense, movement can be performed with pushup stands. The "Perfect Pushup" bars work wonders.

Here is a more comprehensive list of pushup styles to achieve muscle weight gain: fly, wide, military, diamond, yogi, fist, incline, decline, stacked, deep, inchworm, and prison cell pushups.

Tips to increase the effectiveness of your pushup workouts: remember to add some weight once the pushups begin to get easy. You don't want to push out 50 easy reps. Rather, struggle with 20 or 30. Also be sure to add variety by varying your hand position for each of the above types of pushups.

Push ups are a great way to strengthen your upper body and exercise, build muscle at the same time. If you keep it interesting by mixing up your hand positions and trying a few different styles of pushups you can increase the effectiveness of your at-home exercising and relieve the boredom!

Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet Review

We heard about a new diet plan called Fat Loss 4 Idiots (FL4I).  There has been a lot of buzz about this weight loss plan.  After hearing people talking about how they were able to lose weight without working very hard, we decided to get some more information about this.

The food was the first thing we noticed when we looked into this program.  Most of the diets who used FL4I were really happy about having so many food choices.  We found that people could eat almost anything they wanted.

Successful dieters with this diet ate four meals a day, every three hours or so.  Most of them claimed they were not hungry and they started to lose weight quickly.  We noticed the common weight loss for the first week on this diet to be at six pounds.  After that, people continued to lose around the same amount of weight.

We found out more about this plan after doing some research.  Fundamentally, the diet is able to work for most users because it tricks the metabolism.  Most people do not realize it, but when you eat a particular food regularly, your metabolism starts to expect it.  That’s what makes your body hold onto weight.

So with this plan, they provide you with different kinds of foods to select.  Then, your metabolism does not know what to expect.  The metabolism speeds up like crazy, which then results in weight loss.

It’s usually known as “calorie shifting.  ”  With this plan you calorie shift for eleven days, and then you get to cheat for three days. Because of the science behind it, dieters don’t need to change up their lifestyles or eating habits very much at all.

If you've been searching for recommendations from reviews of Fat Loss 4 Idiots, here is our honest opinion: we were definitely impressed by this program.  It is not often that we see something that really works without any major lifestyle changes, and when we do, we like to pass it on.  We definitely recommend FL4I as a healthy choice to those seeking a weigh loss program.

Trying Low Fat Diets as a Weight Loss Treatment

This year, 13 million Americans will die of heart disease. This year, 40% of the people with suffer from metabolic failure. For these people, modifying their lifestyle with more exercise, cholesterol lowering strategies and adhering to a low fat diet could save their lives. Prevention, self-treatment and even blood pressure lowering medications cost pennies compared to the money many will spend on emergency medical care or long term treatment if they continue to live an intentionally, unhealthy lifestyle.

Let's discuss "good fats" to include in your otherwise low fat diet. In addition to transporting vitamins, protecting the body and filling us with energy, some of these fats are deemed so essential because they deliver omega-6 and omega-3, which the body cannot make on its own but relies very heavily upon. These essential fatty acids help the body to regulate hormones, stimulate the metabolism and boost the immune system, thereby fighting off cancer, preventing blood clots, controlling cell growth and regulating all intracellular processes.

"Bad fats" are trans fats: margarines, shortening, deep fried chips, fast food, baked goods, hydrogenated vegetable oil. The reason they are considered bad is that they're known for lowering HDL cholesterol, which is the kind your body needs to function, as well as increasing triglycerides and LDL cholesterol, which is the bad cholesterol that leads to heart disease and diabetes. Saturated fats found in whole milk, butter, cheese, ice cream, red meat, coconuts and chocolate should also be limited for the same reasons. Fat from these sources should be 16 grams or less for a 2,000 calorie low diet. For those looking for a weight loss cure, the saturated fats should be less than 12 grams.

In addition to a low fat diet, exercise is a vital component of your new, healthier lifestyle. Countless studies have shown that just 30 minutes of exercise, four days a week can help lower triglycerides and bad cholesterol, while raising HDL cholesterol. Contrary to popular belief, the exercise need not be as strenuous as running or aerobics. Biking, swimming, cross-country skiing, skating and brisk walking can elevate the heart rate enough to give the body all the health benefits needed.

Always choose a recognized diet plan rather than just the latest diet to hit the market. A great place to find a quality diet is at the Top 10 Diets chart where the diet plans have already proven they work and ranked in the order users rated them.
